If you’re shopping around for attic insulation in Kawartha Lakes, a number of things are well worth considering. Clearly, you’ve decided to insulate, or perhaps re-insulate, your attic. It’s important, therefore, to choose an insulation product that will specifically meet the needs of your project. It’s also important to select an insulation contractor who will do a great job. As for you, the customer, it’s important to understand the project at hand. When you’re informed and knowledgeable, you make better decisions and you work constructively with the company that you’ve chosen.
When you choose a good contractor, it can make a big difference, and choosing a well-established, reputable contractor is a very good place to start. Great Northern Insulation is Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. Our focus is on top-quality insulation products and professional installations. We help our customers to understand the specifics of their project so they can make astute decisions on products and installation. It’s also our belief that being an informed consumer makes for a more constructive business relationship between the customer and the company.
Choosing the right insulation product for the job isn’t particularly simple. We are constantly being bombarded with promotions and marketing for all kinds of insulation products, and it can often get more confusing than informative. Manufacturers advertise their products as the “best”, while contractors advertise their services as the “best”. But if you hire a reliable, reputable contractor, things can be much different. A good contractor will answer questions directly, discuss the project options openly, and make recommendations on product and installation that best suit the job.
A good contractor will also be focused on you, the customer. At Great Northern Insulation, we work with our customers for the full duration of the project. We make sure to address the job requisites; we attend to the challenges of the job; and we make recommendations to suit the requirements of the job. We do our utmost to do the job right the first time, and that includes installing top-quality products and delivering top-quality workmanship. By doing it right we ensure that the products we install will perform at their peak and will deliver the most benefits for the homeowner.
You can be sure that an attic insulation project by GNI is comprehensive. We start with a thorough attic assessment and follow up with a summary report. Based on the report, we make a project proposal that includes product options and installation options. A proposal would typically include the physical requirements of the job; specific project objectives; and reference to the budget. With GNI, customers are in good hands throughout the life of the project. We focus on what’s best for the customer, and always maintain that customer service and support is a priority.
Quality products and quality workmanship should go well beyond the installation. At GNI, we offer a manufacturer’s warranty on the products that we install, and we offer our own guarantee on the work we perform. If an issue or problem arises, we resolve it promptly. In the event that repairs are required, we expedite the work to meet the accepted industry standard. We are committed to 100% customer satisfaction. So if you’re shopping for attic insulation in Kawartha Lakes, have a look at Great Northern Insulation, and consider hiring GNI as your attic insulation contractor.
An attic insulation project at GNI begins with sealing. We create an attic space that is totally airtight by sealing up holes, gaps, cracks and crevices. An airtight attic inhibits airflow and results in energy savings in the cold winter and the hot summer. Sealing also ensures that the installed insulation works effectively. When sealing and insulation work together they comprise a complete “system”. And an attic that is properly sealed, ventilated, and insulated is a complete “system” that delivers energy savings and improved indoor home comfort for the homeowner.
There are all kinds of insulation products available today. But in recent years, professionals in the industry have been opting for the spray foam product – an application that has quickly become the “product-of-choice” for many. When compared to other products, spray foam insulation is the best. It’s the ideal application for the attic, and can deliver more benefits and higher R-Values than any other product on the market. And although the spray foam product and installation are pricier than other products, the substantial energy savings and homeowner benefits make the costs worthwhile.
Spray foam insulation is professionally “sprayed” throughout the attic using customized equipment that allows the foam to spread out uniformly. The application hardens quickly and forms a blanket of super-dense insulation. A good application completely coats the attic space; the wooden beams; the plumbing; the electric wiring; and the HVAC ducts. All things considered, an application of spray foam insulation has better R-Value than any other product. It also serves as an impervious barrier to BOTH air and moisture, making it a perfect solution for a unique space like the attic.
Another attic insulation product that’s worth considering is “blown-in” insulation. This product is available in fiberglass or cellulose, and is affordable for most any budget. When applied, “blown-in” insulation settles throughout the attic to form a thermal blanket that provides excellent R-Value throughout the space. Both fiberglass and cellulose are “fluffy” in their composition, and are designed to restrict the flow of air. The application is ideal for a space like the attic and will deliver many benefits: it’s fire resistant; mold and mildew resistant; and resists insects and rodents.
By far, the best approach for an attic is the “hybrid” approach. The GNI team begins with a standard spray foam application and then follows with an application of the “blown-in” insulation. When properly installed, the products work well together, and provide a good many benefits. The spray foam product performs as an excellent sealer and insulator, while the “blown-in” insulation adds extra R-Value and excellent dollar-value. The “hybrid” approach from Great Northern Insulation delivers peak product performance, combining excellent insulation value and dollar-value in one.
