The standalone attic insulation rebate path of the Home Renovation Savings Program is open and accepting submissions. Rebate amounts increased by $250 across all qualifying tiers in January 2026, meaning qualifying Ontario homeowners can now receive up to $1,250 toward an attic insulation upgrade.
The program's terms and conditions currently list November 30, 2026 as the scheduled end date. That leaves plenty of time to complete an attic upgrade as we enter our the fall season. Getting your free quote booked with Great Northern Insulation is the best way to make sure your work is completed and qualification is confirmed well ahead of the deadline.
Great Northern Insulation is dedicated to providing the best coverage of any available rebate program, and is a qualified contractor for the standalone attic rebate. If the program is extended, we will update this page and share the news on our social channels. In the meantime, contact Great Northern Insulation to find out what your home qualifies for, or read below for full program details.
Available as part of the Home Renovation Savings program
First launched in August 2025, the standalone attic insulation rebate is a path homeowners can take within the Home Renovation Savings program to save up to $1,250 on attic insulation upgrades installed by Great Northern Insulation - with no energy assessment needed.
Ontario homeowners can access this streamlined attic insulation rebate through the new single-upgrade attic rebate path of the Home Renovation Savings program offered by Save On Energy and Enbridge Gas.
This single-measure rebate is designed to make upgrading your attic easier, faster, and more affordable, with no energy assessment required and all program submission work handled by Great Northern Insulation. Confirm your eligibility with Great Northern Insulation, complete your attic insulation upgrades, and receive your rebate cheque in the mail - that's it!
Note: This is a new standalone rebate offering under the Home Renovation Savings program, designed specifically for attic insulation upgrades without the need for an energy audit.
If you are considering upgrading insulation in other areas of your home in addition to your attic, such as upgrading windows and doors, or upgrading your water heater, you should consider the multi-measure Home Renovation Savings rebate path that requires a pre- and post-work energy assessment to maximize your rebates, as outlined here. The multi-measure rebate offers higher overall maximum rebate amounts for home insulation and energy efficiency upgrades, but requires more than one applicable area of the home be upgraded to qualify.

| Current Attic Insulation | Upgrade To R-Value | Maximum Rebate |
|---|---|---|
| Attic R-12 or less | R-50 | $1,250 |
| Attic R-13 to R-25 | R-50 | $1,000 |
| Attic R-26 to R-35 | R-50 | $800 |
| Cathedral/Flat Roof R-25 or less | R-28 | $750 |
| Cathedral/Flat Roof R-12 or less | R-20 | $650 |
Rebates are capped at 50% of project costs after tax.
