If you’re thinking about insulating your attic, and if you’re currently shopping for attic insulation in Orangeville, it’s worth thinking about a few things. For one thing, it’s very important to choose the product that is right for the job. It’s also important to choose the right company for the job. At the same time, it’s important for you, the customer, to understand the ins and outs of the job. The more you can understand about the project, the better – you’ll end up making better decisions while working with the contractor. As for choosing the right contractor, choose reliable and reputable.
Great Northern Insulation is Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. Our reputation is based on quality products and quality installations - it means that we sell and install top-quality products with professionalism and expertise. We also encourage our customers to understand the particular challenges of the job so they can make informed decisions throughout the lifespan of the project. This kind of customer/contractor relationship results in better outcomes all around. And it allows our people to provide the best customer service and support possible.
Every season, we seem to be overwhelmed with advertising for insulation products. Manufacturers claim that their product is best, and contractors claim that their installations are best. We end up more confused than informed, and it sometimes makes purchasing decisions more difficult. But when you hire a reputable contractor the whole process becomes more forthright. A good contractor will answer questions honestly and will make project recommendations that are viable. They will focus on your needs and will make sure that your satisfaction, as a customer, is primary.
When you hire a company that’s well established and well regarded, it can make a big difference. The team at Great Northern Insulation works with you throughout the life of the project. They address the pre-requisites of the job and offer workable solutions to resolve the challenges. GNI does the job right the first time - it means that we install quality products on every job, and provide the highest standard of installation to meet the test of time. It’s our way of ensuring that both product and installation will perform and deliver the long-term results that are promised.
An attic insulation project from GNI is as comprehensive as it gets. We provide a thorough attic assessment - we summarize the findings in a detailed report – and we recommend products and installation that are appropriate. We only make recommendations that are specific to the project, and our focus is always on customer needs. Above all, we make sure that products and installation take into consideration the budget. When you contract Great Northern Insulation, you’ll be in good hands from day one, and you’ll always feel confident that your customer satisfaction is a priority.
Every GNI project combines quality products and quality workmanship. Regardless of job size, we provide a manufacturer’s warranty on products installed, and our own company guarantee on work performed. If there is a problem, we are committed to resolving that problem. If repairs are required, we are committed to making those repairs, and meeting the acceptable industry standard. If you’re planning to insulate the attic, and you’re shopping for attic insulation in Orangeville, have a look at Great Northern Insulation – we’ll make sure that your satisfaction is guaranteed.
Attic insulation at GNI begins with sealing. We completely seal every hole, gap, crack and crevice – it’s our objective to make the attic airtight. Proper sealing guarantees that the insulation performs to its full potential, providing measurable energy savings during the cold winter and throughout the hot summer. Proper sealing and effective insulating allows for an efficient “system” – we create an attic space that is completely sealed, properly ventilated, and well insulated. It becomes a “system” that delivers significant benefits to the homeowner, in the short term AND the long term.
Clearly, there are many insulation products on the market, with some designed specifically for the attic. In more recent years, insulation professionals have come to regard spray foam insulation as the best. It has become a favorite at GNI, especially for those large, expansive areas like the attic and roof. Over and over, spray foam insulation has proven to be the best product on the market, and when compared to others, it has far more benefits, while offering the highest R-Value of all. At Great Northern Insulation, spray foam has become the all-round preferred installation.
When expertly applied, spray foam insulation is “sprayed” into the attic using special equipment that spreads the foam uniformly. It quickly hardens into a dense layer of insulation and coats all of the wooden support beams, plumbing pipes, HVAC ductwork, and electrical wiring. The finished coating provides an insulated space with the highest R-Value of any product. It also provides an impervious barrier to both air and moisture. Simply put, there is no better attic insulation than spray foam, and no other product that can deliver so many benefits at one time.
Another worthwhile product for the attic is “blown-in” insulation (as fiberglass or cellulose). This is an affordable insulation product with a “fluffy” composition that is intended to restrict airflow in the attic. “Blown-in” insulation is a very effective insulator - ideal for the attic - fire resistant - mold and mildew resistant - and resistant to insects and rodents. When expertly installed, this product can be applied on top of existing insulation (clean and uncontaminated) and can provide a superb “thermal blanket” with an impressive R-Value.
For the best possible attic insulation, GNI recommends a “hybrid” approach. GNI installers combine the spray foam product and the blown-in product in one application. Installers will use the spray foam product along with the fiberglass blown-in product, OR the spray foam product along with the cellulose blown-in product. The spray foam seals and insulates, and the “blown-in” insulation adds additional R-Value, while providing excellent dollar-value. GNI installers will often recommend the “hybrid” application because of the outstanding insulation value and the exceptional cost value.
