When it comes time to insulate your attic, there are some fundamental things to consider. To begin with, you want to be sure you choose the right insulation product for the job. As well, you want to be sure you hire a good contractor. And finally, you want to be sure to understand the needs of the job, and any of the potential challenges. As for choosing the contractor, you want a company that’s well established, with excellent credentials, and a good reputation. So if now is the time to insulate your attic, and if you’re shopping for attic insulation in Rexdale, have a look at Great Northern Insulation - a company you can depend on for quality products and exceptional service.
GNI is known as Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. We sell and install only the highest quality products, and we provide the highest level of customer service in the industry. We encourage our customers to be well informed, and to understand their attic insulation project in depth. The fact is, there is so much product marketing, it’s sometimes hard to decide on the right direction. Product manufacturers promote their attic insulation as the best on the market, while contractors and installers promote themselves as the best one to choose. Quite often, consumers end up with more questions than answers – so, it’s always better to be informed.
When it comes to hiring your contractor, Great Northern Insulation brings a comprehensive service approach that is unrivalled in the business. We address your project needs, and we attend to the unique challenges of the job. Our focus is on providing attic insulation solutions, and delivering the desired results over the long run. For the install teams at GNI, it’s always about doing the job right the first time – we want to satisfy the customer fully, with a finished product that brings benefits for years to come. With GNI, you can always be sure of quality products and quality workmanship, and we never fail to satisfy, because everything we sell and install is guaranteed.
With Great Northern Insulation, your attic insulation project is in good hands from start to finish. Every project, regardless of scope, is handled with the same high level of customer service - we start with a thorough attic assessment - we continue with a detailed status report – and we follow up with specific product and installation recommendations. We recommend the product (or the combination of products) to suit the job and to resolve the unique challenges of the attic space. We also make sure to consider the customer’s budget when we propose the products and installation approach for the project.
At Great Northern Insulation, our commitment to customer satisfaction is more than just a promise. We provide the manufacturer’s warranty for products we install, and provide our own guarantee on all work performed. If there’s a problem or concern, we are committed to resolving the situation promptly. If there’s a need for repair or replacement, we are committed to a resolution that meets industry standards. Clearly, we are committed to delivering the best job possible – with top-quality products, and expert installations. For attic insulation in Rexdale, or in any of the communities in the GTA, you can count on GNI.
For the professionals at GNI, attic insulation begins by sealing the attic. We seal every hole, gap and crack as a first step, prior to installing the insulation. When the attic space is properly sealed, the insulated space will provide better overall results, with enhanced energy savings and improved home comfort. As for installing the insulation, we always use the product that best suits the project, and today, we routinely choose spray foam insulation as our product of choice. Indeed, many professionals are touting spray foam as the insulation with the most benefits, and the best results. It’s known generically as polyurethane foam, and has become the favorite of installers nationwide.
Spray foam insulation is applied throughout the attic using special equipment, which allows the foam to spread out as a thick liquid. It quickly hardens into a thick, dense layer of insulation that envelops everything. Expertly installed, the spray foam coats the attic completely from end to end. Everything is covered and sealed - the wooden support beams; the plumbing pipes; the heating ducts; and all the electric wiring. When installed to the manufacturer’s specifications, spray foam provides the best R-value of any product. At the same time it serves as an impermeable barrier to both air and moisture – it’s the perfect sealer and insulator in one.
Another insulation product associated with the attic is blown-in insulation. This is an affordable and effective product that will suit every budget. Blown-in insulation is available in two main compositions: fiberglass or cellulose. The insulation has a “fluffy” composition, so that it restricts airflow, and consequently serves as an insulation layer. Both the fiberglass and cellulose options are treated to resist fire and mold, as well as insects and rodents (ideal attributes for the attic). The insulation is blown through the attic and is uniformly distributed using special blowing equipment. It settles down as a complete “thermal blanket” that delivers excellent R-value.
For GNI, the preferred approach in the attic is a “hybrid” approach. The “hybrid” approach to attic insulation combines two products - one is spray foam, the other is blown-in. Depending on the task at hand, GNI installers choose the product combination that suits best – either spray foam PLUS fiberglass OR spray foam PLUS cellulose. In the “hybrid” install, the spray foam product acts as a sealer and insulator, and the blown-in product serves to further insulate and provide the excellent value per square foot. It’s an application that provides the customer with optimum insulation and the very best dollar value.
Customers sometimes ask us about the do-it-yourself approach to attic insulation, and we most often respond that a professional approach is preferable. GNI believes that the products and the installations require experience and expertise in order to get the optimum results. GNI has both – the experience and the expertise. When our project is complete, the attic insulation is complete. It’s a space that is properly sealed, properly ventilated and properly insulated, and it’s the only way we know. When you decide to contract Great Northern Insulation for your attic insulation, you can be sure of the same kind of project approach.
