If you’re in the process of insulating (or re-insulating) your attic, and you’re shopping around for attic insulation in Huntsville, you should be paying attention to a few things. For instance, it’s vital that you choose an insulation product that suits the job. At the same time, it’s important to choose a contractor that’s reputable. And for you, as the customer, it’s important to have an understanding of the job itself. When you’re informed, you’ll make better purchasing decisions about the products and installation and you’ll work constructively with the contractor you’ve chosen for the work.
Choosing a good contractor can make a big difference in an attic project. So it makes good sense to choose a contractor that’s well established and reliable. Great Northern Insulation is known as Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. We are recognized throughout the region for our top-quality workmanship and for selling and installing top-quality products. We encourage our customers to be knowledgeable about their attic project because we believe that they’ll make better decisions during the life of the project, and will work cohesively with the GNI team.
Choosing the insulation product that best suits your job can be somewhat challenging. There is an overwhelming amount of product marketing and promotion, and things can get confusing before they get informative. Many contractors promote themselves as the “best”, and many manufacturers promote their products as the “best”. But as the customer, you have to do what’s “best” for your project, and that means hiring the right contractor. That contractor will answer questions honestly; provide workable project solutions; and recommend an installation that specifically suits your job.
When you contract a company like Great Northern Insulation, you’ll be in capable hands from day one. Our emphasis is on the customer - we address the pre-requisites of the project - we deal with the challenges at hand - and we suggest products and installations that specifically suit the project. In short, we do the job right the first time. It means installing quality products while providing superior workmanship. Doing it right also means assuring customers that everything we install will perform to its maximum potential and will deliver the long-term benefits that are promised.
Attic insulation from GNI is a comprehensive undertaking from start to finish. We start with an in-depth assessment of the attic; we summarize the situation in a detailed report; and we recommend an action plan that is workable. Our installation team addresses the physical requisites of the job, considers the customer’s goals, and pays attention to the allocated budget. We are always focused on delivering the best customer service possible. It’s because we want our customers to be 100% satisfied with work performed and with the long-term benefits and outcomes of a project well done.
Whatever the project (large or small), GNI is committed to customer satisfaction. For everything we install, we provide the manufacturer’s product warranty. We also provide a company guarantee on work performed. And you can count on us, even after the project has been completed. If there’s an issue or problem, we’ll resolve it. If a repair is needed, we will repair up to industry standard. So if you’re shopping for a sound and reputable contractor, and you’re looking for attic insulation in Huntsville, take a good look at the professionals at Great Northern Insulation.
At GNI, attic insulation begins with sealing. We seal up the attic entirely so that every opening, hole, and crack is sealed up effectively. We create an attic space that is airtight, because the benefits are considerable – we restrict incoming and outgoing airflow – we ensure reduced energy consumption during the winter and summer months – and we set the stage for the installed insulation to better perform. By sealing effectively, and then insulating, we create a “system” that is sealed, ventilated, and insulated. It’s a “system” that delivers energy savings and home comfort simultaneously.
Clearly, there’s no shortage of attic insulation products on the market. But recently, more and more industry professionals are choosing spray foam as their product-of-choice. When the spray foam product is compared with other insulation products, it always emerges as the best. It’s ideal for the attic because it delivers more benefits overall than any of the other products on the market. The spray foam product is more expensive, but the long-term benefits far outweigh the initial upfront expense – the annual energy savings are substantial and the pay back period is reasonable.
With an expert installation, the spray foam product is “sprayed” throughout the attic using special equipment. The foam spreads out evenly, quickly hardens, and envelops the attic with a super dense coating of insulation. Everything is coated - the wooden support beams; the plumbing; the electric wires; and all the HVAC ducts. A good spray foam application will deliver higher R-Values than any other product on the market. In addition, it acts as an effective air and moisture barrier, preventing the movement of air and the buildup of moisture.
Another good product for the attic is “blown-in” insulation. It’s available in fiberglass or cellulose and is affordable for any project budget. Using special equipment, “blown-in” insulation is allowed to settle throughout the attic, creating a “thermal blanket” that provides insulating value. Both the fiberglass and cellulose products are “fluffy” in composition, and are specifically designed to restrict airflow in the attic. “Blown-in” insulation is just perfect for the attic. It has excellent R-Value - it’s fabricated to be fire resistant - it resists mold and mildew - and it resists insects and rodents.
For the experts at GNI, the “hybrid” approach for the attic is the preferred approach. The team begins with a standard install of spray foam and follows with a standard install of the “blown-in” insulation. The applications work individually and together to provide the very best short term and long-term results. The spray foam provides sealing and insulating, while the “blown-in” insulation augments the R-Value and provides excellent dollar-value. GNI favors the “hybrid” approach for the attic because it combines the best insulation value and the best dollar-value in one installation.
