GreenON Rebates Help Homeowners to Offset Energy Upgrades

Ontario homeowners can now take advantage of GreenON Rebates when making improvements to home energy efficiency. GreenON Rebates are available for insulation upgrades throughout the home - and the rebates are impressive - up to $7,200 for purchasing and installing insulation.

GreenON Rebates are designed to offset the upfront cost of insulation upgrades. And the benefits to homeowners are measurable – a well insulated home can save 15% or more on heating the home in winter and cooling the home in summer. Year after year, the savings are substantial.

Qualifying for GreenON Rebates when upgrading home insulation

In Ontario, GreenON Rebates are available to residents who hire approved contractors to make energy upgrades that qualify. The upgrades can be applied to detached homes, semi-detached homes, or townhomes. For Ontario residents who rent, it’s required to get written permission from their landlord. With home insulation, up to $7,200 is available for the purchase and installation. Upgrades can be made in attics, basements, exterior walls, or combination.

1. Up to $1,500 is made available for upgrades to attic insulation
2. Up to $1,900 is made available for upgrades to basement insulation
3. Up to $3,800 is available for making upgrades to exterior wall insulation

Insulation rebates are also available when air sealing a home – this has to be done in conjunction with an insulation upgrade. A properly sealed home will stop energy loss and will allow the HVAC system (heating and air conditioning) to work more efficiently, all of which saves on energy costs.

Working with a GreenON approved home energy contractor

To qualify for the GreenON Rebate, homeowners must work with a approved contractor when purchasing and installing insulation. The contractor will submit the application for rebate, and will follow all of the guidelines and requisites. Once work has been completed, the homeowner will validate the work completion by submitting formal paperwork as the proof of purchase. Working with a approved contractor ensures that both product and installation are of high quality. Approved contractors take care of the entire process - from supplying and installing insulation, to submitting completed rebate paperwork. Homeowners need only validate that work has been completed, and submit proof of purchase. Rebates take approximately 8-12 weeks.

As a pre-qualified GreenON contractor, Great Northern Insulation supplies and installs high quality home insulation. With a team of highly experienced installers, GNI assesses the entire home for areas of deficiency, and then recommends best approach for upgrading and retrofitting. GNI will also recommend which rebate option would of most benefit under the circumstances.

GNI does it right the first time – without compromise on quality and without taking installation shortcuts. Every project is supported by licensed, certified installers, and every project is guaranteed to deliver 100% customer satisfaction.
