Home Renovation Savings Program Extended Into 2026

Nov 07, 2025

Ontario's Home Renovation Savings program, which was originally scheduled to end November 30, 2025, has been extended through November 2026. This means Ontario homeowners have more time to take advantage of one of the most popular rebate programs in recent memory in order to carry out insulation upgrades throughout their home.

The program includes two rebate paths: a multi-measure stream offering up to $7,700 in rebates for insulation improvements throughout the home, and the extremely popular standalone attic stream that provides up to $1,000 for attic insulation upgrades without requiring an energy assessment.

Why This Extension Matters

Since launching in January 2025, the Home Renovation Savings program has helped thousands of Ontario homeowners improve their home's energy efficiency. Great Northern Insulation is one of the few participating contractors authorized to carry out insulation upgrades for both the multi-measure and standalone attic stream of the program, and we've already served hundreds of Ontario homeowners with improved insulation throughout their homes, helping submit rebate applications totalling hundreds of thousands of dollars since the program's launch.

The standalone attic rebate, introduced in August 2025, has proven to be one of the most popular rebate offerings for Great Northern Insulation customers in recent memory. We've completed hundreds of Ontario attic insulation upgrades through this streamlined program, serving homeowners across the province.

Since the program was initially schedule to end on November 30, 2025, though, we've received dozens of inquiries in the last few days asking whether we knew if the program would be extended. As of today, we are happy to share that Enbridge Gas has officially extended the program and look forward to helping hundreds more Ontario homeowners improve their home insulation by the end of 2025, qualifying for rebates along the way.

Who Benefits From This Program?

Part of the reason for the popularity of the Home Renovation Savings program is its accessibility. We've completed insulation upgrades for:

  • Detached and semi-detached homes Ontario-wide: From major cities to rural farmhomes, including homes heated by oil, electricity, propane and non-natural gas heated homes. Nearly every Ontario homeowner can benefit from the rebate program.
  • Condominium units: Hundreds of insulation improvements for condo owners, with Great Northern Insulation working alongside condominium corporations throughout Ontario for upgrades that can also be rebate eligible.

Whether you live in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, St. Catharine's or anywhere inbetween, if you're an Ontario homeowner looking to improve your home's energy efficiency, chances are you likely qualify for rebates through the Home Renovation Savings program.

Why You Should Get A Quote Today

While the program extension is great news, homeowners should still act now to get started on their insulation upgrades. Here's why:

  1. Program terms still allow for early cancellation: the Home Renovation Savings program terms and conditions clearly state that rebates can be terminated at any point. While the extension means homeowners can now book rebate-qualified insulation upgrades past November 30, 2025, there's no guarantee the program won't be modified or ended early. Past rebate programs, including the Canada Greener Homes Grant and the GreenON Rebate Program were both ended suddenly.
  2. Winter is coming: With the coldest months ahead, now is the ideal time to schedule insulation improvements. Upgrading your attic insulation before winter arrives means you'll maximize your energy savings throughout the months your furnace is on, enjoying a warmer, more comfortable home while saving on heating costs.
  3. Peak season scheduling: Fall and winter are historically Great Northern Insulation's busiest months. Getting your free quote and scheduling work now means you'll secure your preferred installation timeline.
