Attic Insulation in Burlington

If you’re ready to insulate your attic, there are a few essentials to take into consideration.  It’s vital, for instance, to choose the right insulating product for the job.  It’s just as important to choose the right company for the job.  And finally, it’s important for you, the customer, to understand the job itself, the objectives of the project, and the challenges posed.  As for choosing the right contractor, it’s sensible to choose a company that is well established, with a good reputation, and recognized for quality work.  All of these requisites will make for a successful project outcome.

If you’re shopping for attic insulation in Burlington, or in the neighboring communities, it’s worth considering a company like Great Northern Insulation.  We are recognized as Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor and have rightly earned that reputation.  GNI sells quality products; installs with professionalism; and provides customer service that is unrivalled.  We also want our customers to be informed - we want them to understand the full extent of their attic insulation project, and then make informed decisions from the beginning of the project until the end.

Throughout the seasons (especially winter) we get bombarded with advertising and promotion for all kinds of insulation products.  The manufacturers tell us that their products are the best, and the contractors tell us that their services are the best.  In the end, we are often left with more questions than answers.  That’s why its so important to contract a company that will answer your questions honestly, and make project recommendations that address your needs and focus on your priorities.  You are the customer, and you are the one paying the bill – so your satisfaction is paramount.

Contracting a company that is experienced and well established can make a big difference in terms of project outcomes.  At Great Northern Insulation, we work with our customers from the start of a job until the end.  We make sure that we address all project requisites, and make sure to focus on providing workable solutions for each customer.  Regardless of job size, or scope of work, GNI does the job right the first time, and that means installing quality products, and performing a quality install.  Above all, we want to ensure long-term benefits and full customer satisfaction.

Working with GNI, every attic project is comprehensive.  We start with an in-depth attic assessment - we provide a detailed status report - and we recommend viable solutions.  GNI will recommend only the insulation product (or product combination) that meets the need of the project.  We always focus on the customer’s pre-requisites, and we always consider the customer’s budget.  Simply put, when you decide to contract Great Northern Insulation, you’ll be in capable, reliable hands from the day we start the project until the day we leave.

As our customer, you can rest assured that every installation will combine high quality products with high quality workmanship.  For us, customer satisfaction is the priority.  We provide the manufacturer’s warranty on products installed, and our own company guarantee on workmanship.  If a problem arises, we’re committed to resolving it.  If repairs are required, we’re committed to solving the issues and meeting the industry standard.  For attic insulation in Burlington, or in the various communities west of Toronto, you can rely on Great Northern Insulation.

The team at GNI always begins an attic project by sealing up the space.  We seal up every opening, hole and gap so that the entire attic is airtight.  This is the best way to make sure that the finished, insulated space will deliver noticeable energy savings and indoor comfort from one season to the next.  It’s also our way of doing the insulating job right the first time.  We essentially create a “system” – it’s a “system” that is properly sealed, properly ventilated, and properly insulated.  And we might say it’s the best reason to contract Great Northern Insulation for attic insulation.

When it’s time to choose the attic insulation product, there are a number of options.  Today, most insulation professionals are opting for spray foam insulation.  It has become their product of choice.  Right across the country, spray foam insulation is being regarded as the best product on the market.  It delivers the most benefits when compared to others; it delivers the highest R-Values than any other product; and it delivers the best long-term results.  Generically known as polyurethane foam, this insulation product has also become the company favorite at GNI.

When installed, the spray foam is “sprayed” through the attic with special application equipment that allows the formula to spread out and then harden into a dense envelope of insulation.  A good install will cover the attic completely - all of the support beams - all of the plumbing – all of the ductwork - and all of the electrical wiring.  The finished envelope will be a layer of insulation with the highest R-Value of any comparable product.  At the same time, it will serve as an impenetrable air and moisture barrier.  In short, a spray foam install is the most effective way to insulate the attic.

Another viable product for the attic is “blown-in” insulation.  This is an affordable insulating option that will suit most budgets.  It’s available in two compositions - fiberglass or cellulose.  The product is “fluffy” in composition and is specifically designed to restrict the flow of air throughout the attic.  “Blown-in” insulation is a very effective insulator.  It’s treated to resist fire, and will resist mold, mildew, insects and rodents.  When properly applied and evenly dispersed, this type of insulation can be easily applied on top of existing insulation to create a very effective “thermal blanket”.

For the very best results in the attic, Great Northern Insulation prefers a “hybrid” approach.  It’s an installation that combines the spray foam product AND the blown-in product together.  The GNI install team decides on either spray foam WITH fiberglass blown-in, OR spray foam WITH cellulose blown-in.  In this “hybrid “ approach, the spray foam component serves as the sealer and insulator, and the “blown-in” insulation provides the excellent dollar-value for the project.  GNI will routinely recommend this application approach for the best long-term results.
