Are you eligible for the GreenON rebate?

In Ontario, GreenON Rebates are available to residents who hire participating contractors to make insulation upgrades that qualify.

The upgrades can be applied to detached homes, semi-detached homes, or row-townhomes.

For Ontario residents who rent, it's required to get written permission from their landlord. With home insulation, up to $7,200 is available for the purchase and installation.

Upgrades can be made in attics, basements, exterior walls, or combination.

Up to $1,500 is made available for upgrades to attic insulation

Up to $1,900 is made available for upgrades to basement insulation

Up to $3,800 is available for making upgrades to exterior wall insulation

Insulation rebates are also available when air sealing a home – this has to be done in conjunction with an insulation upgrade. A properly sealed home will stop energy loss and will allow the HVAC system (heating and air conditioning) to work more efficiently, all of which saves on energy costs.

How do you qualify for GreenON Rebates when upgrading your home insulation?

To qualify for the GreenON Rebate, homeowners must work with a participating contractor when purchasing and installing insulation.

The contractor will submit the application for the rebate and will follow all of the guidelines and requisites.

Participating contractors take care of the entire process - from supplying and installing insulation, to submitting completed rebate paperwork.

Once the application has been submitted by the participating contractor, homeowners will receive an email to review the application and complete the final submission.

Once the application has been approved by GreenON Rebates, the rebate cheque will take approximately 8-12 weeks.
