If you’re looking for attic insulation in Sarnia, and looking for a good contractor to do the work, a few things are worth considering. For example, it’s important to choose an insulation product that meets the need of the job. It’s also important to select a contractor that is reliable and reputable. For you, the customer, it’s important to understand the job, and the challenges of the job. As an informed customer, you’re going to make better decisions about the products and installation and you’re going to work more productively with the contractor that you’ve selected to do the work.
Selecting a good contractor is vital, and it can make a big difference during the life of the project. It’s sensible to select a contractor that’s established in the industry, and has developed a reputation for reliability and trust. Great Northern Insulation is recognized as Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. We are known for selling and installing quality products and for our superior workmanship. We also encourage customers to be informed and knowledgeable about their job - they make much better purchasing decisions, and they work productively with our install team.
Selecting an attic insulation product that suits the job at hand can sometimes be challenging. There is so much marketing and promotion that it can get more confusing than informative. Contractors tell us they are the “best” and product manufacturers tell us they are the “best”. As the customer, you need to do what’s “best” for you. And that means hiring a contractor that will be up-front – a contractor who will answer questions openly; who will provide viable project options; and who will recommend products and installation that suit your job - in short, a contractor who puts you first.
When you hire a contractor like Great Northern Insulation, you’re in good hands from the start of the job till the end. Our focus is on the customer’s needs. We pay attention to the pre-requisites of the job. We address the challenges of the job. And we recommend products and installation that best suit the job. At GNI, we do the job right the first time. And that means installing top-quality products while providing top-quality workmanship. By doing it right the first time we can assure our customers that installed products will perform at their best and deliver the maximum results.
Hiring GNI also ensures an attic insulation project that is comprehensive from end to end. We begin by assessing the attic space - we then provide a detailed summary - and finally, we suggest the right approach for implementation. Typically, we address the physical needs of the job, the customer’s objectives, and the project budget. The GNI team is focused on providing superior customer service at every point - we want our customers to be 100% satisfied with the work we’ve done and with the outcomes that we’ve promised. Its just another way of doing it right the first time.
Whether it’s a complete attic insulation, or a re-insulation after many years, GNI is committed to project satisfaction. We provide the manufacturer’s warranty on everything we install. We provide a company guarantee on our workmanship. And we’re committed to the job even after we’re done. If there’s a problem, we resolve it. If repairs are required, we expedite them. So if you’re shopping for attic insulation in Sarnia, and shopping for an established, reputable contractor, consider the professionals at Great Northern Insulation. You’ll be in capable hands from day one.
Our attic insulation projects usually begin with sealing. We seal the attic completely and make the space airtight. Every opening, hole, and crack is sealed up. When the attic is airtight, the benefits are measurable - incoming and outgoing airflow is inhibited - energy consumption (during winter and summer) is dramatically reduced - and the installed insulation performs effectively. By sealing and insulating, we create a “system”. The attic is simultaneously sealed, ventilated, and insulated, and the “system” delivers significant energy savings and home comfort all at the same time.
Today, there is no shortage of attic insulation products. But in more recent years, professionals throughout the industry have been choosing spray foam insulation as their favorite product. When spray foam is compared to other products, it always emerges as the best of the bunch. The product is ideal for attics because it has more benefits than other products and delivers higher R-Value. And while spray foam is somewhat more costly than other products, the substantial energy savings and long-term homeowner benefits far outweigh the original upfront investment.
With a professional install, spray foam is “sprayed” into the attic with special equipment that allows the foam to spread evenly and uniformly throughout. It quickly hardens into a thick, dense coat of insulation that covers the attic entirely – all of the wood crossbeams; all of the plumbing pipes; all of the electrical wiring, and all of the HVAC ductwork. A spray foam application provides higher R-Value than any other product on the market. The application also acts as a superb air and moisture barrier, which prevents the movement and accumulation of both air and moisture in the attic.
Another product worth considering for the attic is blown-in insulation. The product is available in fiberglass or cellulose and is an affordable option for most any budget. With special equipment, the “blown-in” insulation settles down throughout the attic space and creates a “thermal blanket” that provides the required insulation. Both compositions are “fluffy” and are designed to restrict the movement of air throughout the attic. This product is ideal for the attic - it delivers excellent R-Value; it’s fire resistant; it resists mold and mildew; and it inhibits insects and rodents.
For the professionals at GNI, the preferred approach for attic insulation is the “hybrid” approach. We begin with a standard application of spray foam and follow up with a standard application of “blown-in” insulation. The two applications work well together, and provide desirable short term and long-term outcomes. The spray foam seals and insulates, and the “blown-in” insulation adds additional R-Value and excellent dollar-value. The team at GNI prefers a “hybrid” approach mainly because it incorporates the best insulation value possible with the best dollar-value on the market.
