If you reside in the Leamington area, and you’re in the process of shopping for attic insulation in Leamington, there are some basics worth considering. When insulating (or re-insulating) the attic, it’s critical to choose a product that matches the need. It’s also critical to choose a contractor who will do a great job. Not to mention how important it is for you, as the homeowner, to understand the essentials of the project itself. When you are well informed, you make better decisions overall, and you are bound to work more constructively with the contractor that you’ve chosen for the job.
Choosing a “good” contractor will make a difference during the lifespan of an attic project. It means choosing a contractor that is well established, reputable and reliable – a combination that will pay off. Great Northern Insulation is recognized as Canada’s largest full-service insulation contractor. We have a corporate approach that is straightforward - we sell quality insulation products and we install with professionalism and expertise. We encourage customers to understand their own attic insulation project, and to make astute decisions about the products and installation involved.
Choosing the right attic insulation product can actually be challenging. We seem to be barraged with promotions and marketing for all kinds of insulation products – it often gets more confusing than informative. The manufacturers promote their products as being the “best” and contractors promote their services as being the “best”. The fact is, the “best” for you, as the homeowner, is to hire a contractor who is reputable: one who answers questions openly - discusses project options honestly - and makes recommendations that are best suited for the job they were hired.
At Great Northern Insulation, we work with customers for the entire duration of the project. Your priorities are at the forefront. We address your pre-requisites. We recognize the challenges of the project. And we recommend products and installation that suit the job. Above all, we do our best to do the job right the first time. Doing it right means installing top-quality products along with top-quality workmanship. It’s also an approach that allows the installed products to perform at peak, and deliver the maximum product benefits to the homeowner for the long term.
GNI attic insulation projects are comprehensive. First, we assess the overall condition of the attic. Next, we summarize the findings in an in-depth report. Finally, we make appropriate product and installation recommendations. Typically, the recommendations would address the physical aspects of the job - the particular objectives – and, of course, the budget. In short, we want to accommodate the customer - we want to do what’s best for the job - we want to provide customer service and support that is unparalleled - and we want to make sure that the customer is 100% satisfied.
Quality products and quality workmanship are only the beginning for GNI. For every project, we offer the manufacturer’s warranty on products installed. We also provide a company guarantee on the installation itself. If there’s a problem, we attend to it promptly. If a repair is required, we also attend to it, and meet the acceptable industry standard. So, if you’re looking for attic insulation in Leamington, or in one of the local communities, consider Great Northern Insulation. You’ll be in goods hands from day one, with a commitment to the customer that is unmatched in the industry.
Regardless of project size, an attic insulation project with GNI begins with sealing. We create an airtight attic space and seal up every little hole, gap, crack and crevice. We start with an airtight space because of the inherent benefits: inside/outside airflow is restricted; heating/cooling energy is conserved throughout the seasons; and the insulation we install works much more effectively. Sealing and insulation work well together - they comprise a “system” that contributes to an attic that is sealed, ventilated, and insulated – a “system” delivers savings and comfort at one time.
As a consumer, you have many types of insulation products to choose from today. The industry professionals, however, have been choosing spray foam insulation as their product-of-choice. In fact, when it’s compared to other insulation products, spray foam comes out as the best of the lot. This is an ideal product application for the attic with more benefits and higher R-Values than other similar products. The spray foam product and installation are actually costlier when compared, but the significant energy savings and measurable residential benefits make the initial cost worthwhile.
With a professional install, spray foam insulation is “sprayed” into the attic with custom application equipment. The foam spreads out evenly throughout the attic, hardens quickly, and forms a dense envelope of insulation. Properly installed, an application envelops the attic space completely, including the wooden beams, plumbing, electrical wiring, and HVAC ducts. The finished insulation coverage has a higher R-Value than any other product on the market. In addition, it serves as an impenetrable air and moisture barrier - the perfect solution for a space like the attic.
Another insulation product that’s worthwhile for the attic is “blown-in” insulation. The product is available in a fiberglass or cellulose composition, and is a very affordable option for any budget. With special equipment, the “blown-in” insulation settles inside the attic space, creating a “thermal blanket” with excellent R-Value throughout. Both of the compositions (fiberglass and cellulose) are “fluffy” and are uniquely fabricated to restrict airflow in the attic. This is an ideal application for the attic - it’s fire resistant, it’s resistant to mold and mildew, and it resists insects and rodents.
For the install teams at GNI, the very best methodology for attic insulation is a “hybrid” method. We start off with a customary application of spray foam and follow with an application of “blown-in” insulation. These products work well together, and provide excellent results in combination. The spray foam works as a superb sealer and insulator, while the “blown-in” insulation provides added R-Value and unbeatable dollar-value. The “hybrid” method from Great Northern Insulation allows for each product to perform, combining excellent insulation value and dollar-value at one time.
